That’s right folks! I’m movin’ on up! For real, though. East side, East Bay…same thing. Haha. But I do think this song is appropriate. Anyhow, here is a sneak peek of my new place in Walnut Creek, CA.
Ladies & Gentlemen… I proudly present to you (drum roll*) The Carriage/Garage Barn House!
I’m not quite sure how it’ll be furnished. Maybe I’ll just leave it like this. The floor would suffice. But if by chance I happen to furnish it in the near future, you can definitely expect some updated photos :)
I know what you are probably thinking… What the fudd?! This is just a recap of my weekend apartment hunting. I’d like to start by saying that it isn’t easy. No siree! Luckily, with the support of my love and craigslist.org , the battle was won. I found the needle in the hay stack. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I crossed the finish line. Well, you get the picture. I did it! And we had fun along the way. Here’s proof!
We ate at The House. The food was amazing. You can read my review and see pictures of what we ordered on Yelp.
It was all so scrumptious that I couldn't handle it.
The next day I was ready to hunt. Itinerary & all :)
We attempted to have brunch at a Farmers Market in San Ramon. That was a fail since there was hardly any food there. There was, however, something GREAT that came out of visiting the farmers market– we encountered this:
Little guy!!
We ended up having brunch at Whole Foods :) … It never disappoints.
see how much we love it?
Later we found a waterfall to dive into. But then we changed our minds.
After this, the search continued. We went to the appointments I had made over the past few weeks. We drove up and down the streets of Walnut Creek. To be frank, though, the Carriage House was in the back of my mind, so we killed time downtown before we explored that final destination.
Before I found, what is now my apartment, we tended to my crave.
Again, after visiting many different apartments and condos all around Walnut Creek and even as far as San Ramon, my heart was set on the Carriage House. The gents hand was set on it too! So much so that he was stuck by a couple of splinters from the barn-wood-accented wall. I came to the rescue, of course.
Splinterectomy
After the successful splinter removal and deciding on taking the Carriage House, we celebrated by eating random things.
Such as this.
The next day we didn’t have to hunt any longer. I had accomplished what I needed to do on this trip. I was super happy! So… we ate ramen :)
Today I went to the Donuttery for lunch with my brother Hendrix. You heard me. Lunch. Here’s what we got. Read my review on Yelp to get a list of all the donuts in the picture below :
Last weekend The Gent and I went back to Adamson’s French Dip for our last meal before I headed back to Orange County. Boy, was I glad we did. This time around we decided to go crazy! So we added cheese and mushrooms!! Ugh. This sandwich literally melts in your mouth. You could read my review on Yelp!
