Last week The Gent and I wanted to take a breather and venture off to a new land. (Well, new to me anyway). We decided to head to Sausalito, CA after we got off work to explore more of the Bay Area. By the time we arrived, it was already dark. We were on the search for this restaurant called Le Garage which we both haven’t experienced. We ended up driving past these buildings, towards the dock, with no sign of civilization. As we crept a little closer to the sail boats, we turn to our left and there it is! A dimly lit area that literally looks like garage! (Hence the name, Le Garage). This place was poppin’ more than we had expected. The wait wasn’t too long and the menu looked like it was in a foreign language. That’s what you get for coming to a French restaurant though.
What we ate:

Soup du Jour - Cauliflower soup with Truffle oil

Escargot stuffed Mushrooms w/ Burgundy snails, garlic, parsley, shallots, and buerre maitre d'hotel

Red Trout w/ roasted sunchokes, yellow chanterelles, borage and lavender gem citrus brown butter sauce
Ever since the Lady’s moved up to Walnut Creek, she’s been COOKING. Lucky me. I’ve been eating…

THESE SCALLOPS THOUGH

...served with sea bass

And our own creation... Tofu-golgi

...served with tea leaf salad and coconut rice from Burma Superstar

WE STAY FEASTIN'
…all this paired with some HIMYM on Netflix. It’s never felt (and tasted!) so good to be domesticated, haha.
Last weekend The Gent and I went back to Adamson’s French Dip for our last meal before I headed back to Orange County. Boy, was I glad we did. This time around we decided to go crazy! So we added cheese and mushrooms!! Ugh. This sandwich literally melts in your mouth. You could read my review on Yelp!
Here I am ready to attack!
My plane landed in San Jose around noon on Saturday. The gent picked me up and we were on our way to explore Walnut Creek, CA in order to find a place for me to call home. But of course, not before he gave me this:
Nothing says I love you more than a donut!
When we arrived in Walnut Creek we were pretty hungry. We were able to avoid starving pains because he knew exactly what he wanted. Walnut Creek was the home of his favorite salad. EVER.
Cabo Chop Salad w/ Tri-tip from Buckhorn Grill in Walnut Creek. Inevitably, it became one of my favorite salads.
The next day we went back to Walnut Creek and ate at The Cheesecake Factory along with GuyGuy.
GuyGuy ordered the Chicken Castoletta,
I ordered the Luau Salad,
and The Gent ordered the Miso Salmon on brown rice. After lunch we were too full to order dessert. I know. Shameful!
Later that day we went to Berkley, CA (which I will share more about in my next post). But here’s what we ate in Berkley:
Yup! Hot dogs from Top Dog. Honestly, I’m not quite sure what kind of dogs we each got. What I do remember is the bread being perfect. We walked a long way to get here. It definitely hit the spot.
