It’s apparent that I’ve been slacking off on this blog business, but much has happened since my last post. Instead of attempting to backtrack each event, I’ve decided to do a quick review before the start of this new year.
2012 highlights:

  1. I moved to the Bay
  2. Started a new job in Gastroenterology in the heart of San Francisco
  3. I married the man of my dreams
  4. I learned more of Gods will & plan for my life
  5. Experienced more culture, food, art & music
  6. Moved to the coziest little home in the Temescal District of Oakland

… And so much more!

2 days & counting.

It’s 2 more days until we tie the knot! I’m so excited to do this already! It’s definitely been a whirlwind of events. Unfortunately, I came down with some viral thing that had been going around. For 3 weeks I had been dealing with swollen tonsils and being unable to swallow food and keeping the food down, for that matter. So yesterday, as I was doing one last fitting of my wedding dress, to my surprise IT DOESN’T FIT. It was extremely loose. Luckily I was able to go to J. Crew & explain the situation. They were able to order me a dress 2 sizes smaller and ship it overnight! They were even generous enough to waive the overnight shipping fee. It was probably out of pity. Haha. I’m supposed to receive the dress tomorrow before 7PM. Exactly 24 hours before my wedding. So until then, I’ve been eating like this:

I’ve been obsessed with La Boulange lately. They have THEE most amazing french toast. The bottom of it is straight up flan. It’s delicious!

On another note, Leejay has a huge board meeting coming up on the day of the wedding for Square, Inc. He’s been working super hard day and night meeting crazy deadlines. Luckily he’s amazing at what he does & has been going above and beyond. So much so that his manager has been non-stop complimenting him on his work. I’m so proud of him! Not to mention that he has been so helpful and supportive throughout all the wedding planning. From designing our save-the-dates, ceremony programs, editing engagement photos, designing and printing our giveaways, and more! Amongst all his work and the wedding planning, he still makes time to talk, make dinner, buy me flowers and cheese fries, run errands with me, help me recover from my sickness & allow me to just take a breath, soak my feet, and relax. I am so blessed to be marrying such a caring & hard working man. I fall in love over and over again every single day.

Nakamura Cousin Shindig

Now that my future sister-in-law is married to this fam, we were invited to the cousin party! It was nice meeting everyone and chatting all night. I feel I’ve learned more about “life in SF” tonight than any other. The Gent & I are more excited than ever to move into The City as soon as we get back from the honeymoon.

Cake Topper

I’ve been in search of the perfect cake toppers. I couldn’t find any so I decided to make them myself. I’m sculpting them out of clay! I know, right? Since when did I become a sculptor? The answer is NEVER. Haha. Wish me luck! To be revealed on September 28, 2012 :)
