Checkpoint

I’m on BART at the Macarthur station so I’ve still got a good 20 minutes or so until Powell. Oh yeah, I work in SF now. And I live next door to Lady Brie in Walnut Creek. I guess it’s been a while since we’ve posted anything on this poor neglected blog. I’m usually spending this time dominating Diamond Mine in Bejeweled, but I thought I’d switch it up and blog for a change with this free time.

Dude. I’m getting married, wtf. I never thought I’d be one of those people who get engaged after less than a year of being with someone. But as many wiser, older people have told me… when you know, you KNOW. It’s been an unbelievable (no really — I still can’t believe it sometimes) year, getting to know and learn her, and stepping back to examine our progression. It feels like we’re at a stage I thought couples only reach after 4-5 years, but alas… here we are. I’m 25, (kind of but not really) living with my partner in crime, both of us quickly and actively progressing in our individual careers with complete support of one another, engaged to be married in two months with most of the wedding expenses already paid for, and saving up for a down payment to buy a house in the next few years. Constant-ly making each other laugh.

Just a year ago, I had zero future plans, no desire to even be in a relationship, avoiding any sense of responsibility, and getting into plenty of (harmless) mischief and solo adventures. Don’t get me wrong, it was a blast while it lasted. But I also never knew how much fun I could have doing the opposite. Because as serious as our relationship has gotten… we never seem to take anything seriously. I think we laugh more than anything. I always tell her that it just feels like we’re playing house. A very realistic version of playing house.

Ok damn, two more stops to go. I’ll wrap this up while I’m at Embarcadero. Oh no, my entire post was just grown up sounding stuff. Uhhh…

POO POO PEE PEE FART :)

Our sincere apologies

I understand we are long overdue on posting anything to this blog. We have definitely been up to no good…

WE’RE ENGAGED!

The rumors are true! <3

With that said, My next post will be about what we’ve been up to the past couple months. Including the how, when, and where, as well as the mini-adventures in between. With all this excitement in the air, we havent had a chance to document things along the way. Stay tuned!

Dressing UP

This weekend was my godson, Tristan’s 2nd birthday. Because of his current obsession with balloons, we decided to go with an UP theme. I apologize for the quality of my photos. I promise that once I get the lens I want on my DSLR, the photos will be fun to look at. Until then… deal with it.

The next day, we had an early start. We got some reflexology done, got our smoothie fix from Juice It Up, and had a mini date at Downtown Disney before we headed back home.

And we ended up taking this little guy home from Build-A-Dino. Meet our new friend Jose, the woolly mammoth!

Sausalito

Last week The Gent and I wanted to take a breather and venture off to a new land. (Well, new to me anyway). We decided to head to Sausalito, CA after we got off work to explore more of the Bay Area. By the time we arrived, it was already dark. We were on the search for this restaurant called Le Garage which we both haven’t experienced. We ended up driving past these buildings, towards the dock, with no sign of civilization. As we crept a little closer to the sail boats, we turn to our left and there it is! A dimly lit area that literally looks like garage! (Hence the name, Le Garage). This place was poppin’ more than we had expected. The wait wasn’t too long and the menu looked like it was in a foreign language. That’s what you get for coming to a French restaurant though.

What we ate:

Soup du Jour - Cauliflower soup with Truffle oil

Escargot stuffed Mushrooms w/ Burgundy snails, garlic, parsley, shallots, and buerre maitre d’hotel

Red Trout w/ roasted sunchokes, yellow chanterelles, borage and lavender gem citrus brown butter sauce

So what? Who cares?

I have spent the last few hours gathering pictures, organizing, resizing, and sorting out how I’d like to display them onto this post. It’s been just over a month since I moved up to Walnut Creek. This month, however, has been extremely busy, to say the least. March 2012 was full of change, transition, and learning. I am still, til’ this day, adjusting to the likes of the bay. Between, donut adventures, weddings, moving, movie premieres, bowling nights, pretty views, cooking experiments, mixing (music), exploring downtown areas, Klout parties, family time, working out, and surviving the drastic weather changes, there’s been way too many things to post. So until I get into the groove of blogging regularly, I’m keeping this one simple. Bottom line, I am happy and moving forward. With that said, I’ve decided to sum it all up with one photo.
